Raymond Tubb

Raymond Tubb is an anchor for WGXA News at 5 p.m and 10 p.m. on FOX24, and at 6pm, 7p, and 11pm on ABC16.

Raymond grew up in Milledgeville, where he attended the public schools and graduated from Georgia College with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.

He started working at a local radio station right after graduating from high school and got to do everything from a regular board-shift, to basketball and football announcing, and even some news reporting.

After college, he worked at WMAZ for nearly 17 years. He started as a reporter and eventually became Managing Editor. His duties included everything from overseeing daily news coverage, to coordinating special projects and investigative pieces, election coverage, and hosting the news show "Close-Up."

Raymond moved into real estate to take advantage of a more flexible schedule after he and his wife, Valerie, adopted their son, Nick, from Russia.

Raymond remains involved in real estate, but now that Nick is older, he has returned to the news business as anchor of WGXA News at 5 and WGXA News at 10 on Fox 24.

"At its heart news is public service. We've got a duty to let people know what's going on in their community, and to record and reflect life in the community," Raymond said.

"Information in a daily newscast can change lives. During severe weather it can save lives. It's something we do very well here, and I'm excited to be a part of it."
