ATLANTA (AP) — The second suspect arrested in the abduction of a suburban Atlanta teen has pleaded not guilty.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/19RP2xN ) that Tony Maurice Graves had shackles on his ankles when he appeared in court Friday. U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerrilyn Brill denied him bond based on the current charges, as well as 27 arrests and 12 convictions since 2003. Previous charges involve drug and gun possession and aggravated assault.
The 28-year-old defendant is one of two men arrested in the Sept. 17 abduction of 14-year-old Ayvani Hope Perez form her home in Ellenwood. Graves and 29-year-old Wildrego Jackson face federal charges of conspiracy to kidnap and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence.
Jackson was taken into custody last month and Graves was arrested a week ago.
