The Macon-Bibb Law Enforcement Foundation is looking for 50 runners to take part in a 5K race that will raise funds for an injured firefighter.

The race, called the Call of Duty Above & Beyond 5K Challenge, will be run at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Public Safety Memorial Park on Mulberry and Second streets in downtown Macon.

All proceeds will benefit Macon-Bibb Firefighter Eric John, who was injured in the line of duty when hit by a car while working a traffic accident on I-75. Additional activities will be scheduled throughout the day to benefit John.

The race will be open to the first 50 runners who register. Registration is $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the race and includes a t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded.

Runners can go to active.com or mblef.org to register.
