Francis uses sermon to address church bombing, typhoon devastation
VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis has delivered an impassioned sermon on Syria and the Philippines during Wednesday's general audience in St Peter's Square.
Syria's state news agency said a mortar shell hit a school bus on Monday, killing four children and the bus driver. Francis called for fervent prayers that such incidents won't happen.
He also offered prayers for victims of Friday's typhoon in the Philippines, which has Asia's largest Catholic population.
