Macon Police make an arrest in last month's burglary of a local animal rescue shelter that resulted in the deaths of three dogs.

MPD spokesperson Jami Gaudet tells WGXA that 36 year old Crystal Gale Fessler was arrested Thursday afternoon on 14 criminal charges: one count of criminal trespass along with 13 counts of cruelty to animals.

She's being held in the Bibb LEC tonight on a 92 hundred dollar bond

Her arrest is in connection to the October 17th break-in at the group's downtown facility.

The burglar is belived to have scaled the fence and released a number of pit bull type breeds being held there. Three of the dogs died fighting one another, another dozen were left licking their numerous bite wounds.

It's unknown what if any connection Fessler had with the rescue group.

We have yet to hear back from All About Animals volunteers for reaction to Thursday's arrest.
