The Mercer University football team looks to build on its winning season with a trip to Davidson, N.C., to take on a winless Wildcats team.
The Bears enter the 1 p.m. matchup Saturday wtih a three-game winning streak.
In its only year in the Pioneer Football League, Mercer finds itself in the hunt for the regular season championship, sitting just one half game behind Butler for the conference lead and even with the Bulldogs in the loss column.
Mercer is one of 13 FCS programs in the country with one or less. All but three of those teams are ranked in the latest FCS Coaches Poll. n With a perfect 6-0 record at home, the Bears are tied for the most FCS home wins in the country with Sam Houston State, while Auburn and Ohio State are the only FBS programs with 6-0 marks on their home field.
