COLLEGE PARK, Ga. (AP) — Classmates are grieving the death of a young boy struck and killed by a vehicle just southwest of Atlanta.
WSB Radio reports (http://bit.ly/1fgusfM) that grief counselors will be at Heritage Elementary School in College Park on Monday to help students deal with the death of the 6-year-old boy. He was killed Sunday night when police say he darted into traffic and was struck by an SUV.
The accident happened on Old National Highway at Jolly Road in south Fulton County.
Authorities say the victim, whose name has not been released, was with his 16-year-old brother. They say neither child was in a crosswalk.
The siblings had just been to a barbershop across the street from their apartment complex.
College Park is about eight miles southwest of downtown Atlanta.
