Atlanta slugger Jason Heyward took a beanball to the face.

Heyward was struck by a 90 mph fastball from New York Mets left-hander Jonathon Niese in the sixth inning today.  The crowd groaned as Heyward crumpled to the ground.

He stayed down for about three minutes before getting helped to his feet and being walked slowly off the field under his own power.

He's been diagnosed with a broken jaw and will be reportedly out of the line-up for as many as six weeks.

He's been on a tear at the plate since moving into the leadoff spot last month, batting .254 with 13 homers and 37 RBI's.
