Byron Police are investigating the death of a woman on Martin Luther King Drive.
Chief Wesley Cannon said a call came into 911 Friday afternoon saying there was a murder.
Officers say when they got to the apartment they found 20-year-old Destiny Clark stabbed to death inside the apartment and her boyfriend Ratavius Canion at the door.
Chief Cannon says Canion told officers he got into a fight with Clark, and she was dead.
Neighbors told WGXA the couple moved to Byron with their baby from Warner Robins within the last month.
Otis Smith said he worked with Clark.
Clark recently told Smith about problems in their relationship. "Like I was saying today, I told her I said don't go home. Go to your parents house, call the cops on him", Smith said.
Smith told WGXA Clark was a joy to be around and will be missed.
As of 10:00 p.m. Friday, no charges have been filed against Canion, but Chief Cannon expected that to change soon.
