Byron Roads to Close for Saturday Morning Race

Byron will be closing some roadways to traffic Saturday morning as the city hosts the annual Susan G. Komen 5K Race for the Cure.

The event starts at North Peach Park and will result in White Road being closed to traffic starting at 8 a.m.

The Byron Police Department will begin closing other roads along the race route starting at 8:45 a.m.

Parking for race participants will be behind Byron Elementary School and Byron Middle School. Participants are asked to turn on to New Dunbar Road to go to the parking areas. No Parking will be allowed on White Road.

The other roads impacted by the race include:

White Road from Peavy and James E Williams to GA 49

Walker Road from Allred Road to White Road

Majestic Oak Circle

Willow Oak Way

Red Oak Road from Willow Oak Way to White Road

We will reopen roadways as permitted by the participants.

White Road will remain closed for the entire 5K walk/run from GA 49 to Peavy Road and James E Williams Pkwy.
