In memory of a Macon man's birthday, his former high school football team is washing cars for charity.

Saturday, August 16, Central High Football players are putting on a car wash in honor of Brandon Benning.
He's a former player who lost his life to brain cancer.
Proceeds from the car wash go to the American Brain Tumor Association.
Organizers say it's to raise awareness for this disease that does not get enough attention.

"There isn't enough of a focus on brain cancer, so we're hoping to be able to bring that awareness, raise money for brain cancer research and spread brandon's legacy as well", said Angela Karen.

Car washes will cost $5.
It will be held at the Suntrust Bank on Zebulon road from 12:30 to 5 p.m.
There will also be a raffle for a $50 gas card.
