The 25th Annual Five Star Mazda Kevin Brown Celebrity Classic began Thursday.

It all got underway Thursday morning with the sporting clay competition, followed by Thursday night's auction and dinner at Idle Hour Country Club.

A long list of sports celebrities are in attendance. Of course, the event's namesake Kevin Brown, along with UFC's Matt Hughes, not to mention Macon native and former Atlanta Braves player John Rocker.

Proceeds go to charities such as the Macon Rescue Mission and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

We caught up with Kevin Brown about today's clay shoot.

"A chance to do something different. Ya know a lot of folks in this area enjoy gun sports." -- Kevin Brown, Former Major Leaguer

"I come out here for the good charity. I love helping out and in a weird way I can say I'm a greedy guy. The more you give the more you receive. I give as much as I can it comes back it seems like ten fold." -- Matt Hughes, UFC Fighter

The golf tournament begins Friday morning at Idle Hour Country Club.
