Cherry Blossom Queen to be Chosen Saturday

It's time to Think Pink in Macon.

The Cherry Blossom Festival may be four months away, but the 2014 Cherry Blossom Queen and Princess Pageant is this weekend.

The pageant will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Grand Opera House. Doors open at 5:30 and the pageant will begin at 6.

The Cherry Blossom queen and four princess will be selected from among 12 high school seniors residing in middle Georgia.

Also selected will be the senior queen and one senior princess, chosen from applicants age 55 or older.

The Cherry Blossom queen will receive a $2,000 scholarship for use at any college or university. The four princesses will each receive a $500 scholarship.
