DORAVILLE, Ga. (AP) — DeKalb County police say a 6-year-old girl has been wounded by a stray bullet in an apartment complex.
Department spokeswoman, Mekka Parish, told WSB-TV the girl was not seriously injured. Police Capt. Steven Fore told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the girl was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Additional information on the circumstances that led to the shooting and whether or not the shot was fired from within the apartment was not immediately available.
Earlier Monday, a 5-year-old girl who heard gunshots outside her apartment complex was wounded when she looked out of a window to see what was going on.
The girl was shot in her shoulder and was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.
