PHENIX CITY, Ala. (AP) — Authorities in Russell County, Ala. say two brothers from Columbus, Ga. have been killed in a car crash.

County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. says 25-year-old Ronnie Short Jr. and 37-year-old Derrick Short were killed Saturday after the driver of the 1998 Mustang they were riding in lost control of the car. Authorities say the car veered into a ravine and crashed into bushes.

Sumbry says both men were ejected from the vehicle and it's unclear if they were wearing seatbelts.

A third man was taken to the Midtown Medical Center and information on their injuries was not immediately available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
