Candidate Danny Glover has announced he will drop out of the District 3 Macon-Bibb Commission race to focus on 'personal matters'. Glover entered the race to run against Elaine Lucas and Terry Tripp. Glover has endorsed Tripp following his announcement. This announcement comes after Glover faces a misdemeanor charge in Jones County involving marijuana. Glover posted the following announcement on his Facebook page Tuesday morning: It is with a heavy heart that I announce my intent to withdraw my candidacy from the District 3 Macon-Bibb Commission race. My commitment and sincere desire to improve the quality of life for all the citizens in our community has never been stronger; however, at this time I must focus my attention on some personal matters. I wish to thank those who have supported my campaign and apologize to them for this unexpected announcement. While this is not the best time for me to focus on a campaign, I trust that those who have supported me in this race will also support my decision. -Danny D. Glover
