A search in Dodge County for a missing 84-year-old man ended successfully Thursday afternoon when they found him OK.
The Eastman Examiner reports Ken Baggett was last seen around 10 a.m. Thursday when we left his Rockey Springs Road home on his ATV. Once deputies were notified that he was missing, two helicopters were used to help search for him, along with staff from the Georgia DNR, GSP, Dodge County EMA and members of several volunteer fire departments.
During the search, officials were able to talk to Baggett on his cell phone but poor signals in the search area led to several dropped calls.
Baggett was able to find his way out of the woods around 5 p.m. Thursday afternoon after getting turned around. His grandson spotted him on Rckey Springs Road and notified those leading the search efforts.
Baggett was taken to the Dodge County Hospital where he was checked for dehydration before being discharged and sent home to rest.
