A Dooly County inmate is back in custody after trying to escape from a south Bibb County work detail.
Inmates were working on North Avondale Circle Thursday afternoon when 28-year-old Jamal T. Millican tried to escape. Deputies tell WGXA that Millican stole a truck but it broke down on Hawkinsville Road near the Kohl's Warehouse. Millican ran away and tried to break into a second car on East Drive.
Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office began to receive calls about a suspicious person wearing a "prison-style" suit running along East Drive. Deputies responded to the area and caught Millican in the field next to the Kohl's Warehouse.
Millican was turned over to the Georgia Department of Corrections and will be charged with the escape. He will be charged with Theft by Taking Auto, Criminal Damage to Property, Entering Auto, Obstruction and False Information in Bibb County.
