MACON, Ga. (AP) — An ex-Macon police officer has pleaded guilty to stealing a tractor and violating his oath of office.
The Telegraph of Macon reported Tuesday (http://bit.ly/18pBP1Y) that 33-year-old Jon Adam Wantz of Warner Robins appeared in Bibb County Superior Court on Tuesday. He and another officer resigned from the force after they were arrested on theft charges in late January.
Authorities have said Wantz and Troy Guidry conspired to steal the tractor from a local business and were arrested after the machinery was found behind Guidry's house.
Wantz has been ordered to testify against the other officer, who has yet to go to trial. Assistant District Attorney Myra Tisdale says a charge that Wantz stole a gun he found at an abandoned building has been dismissed.
