Fire destroys house at Detroit art installation

DETROIT (AP) — Fire has destroyed another house in the Heidelberg Project outdoor art installation in Detroit.

WDIV-TV and WWJ-AM report that the fire burned early Thursday at the structure known as the Penny House on the city's east side. There was no immediate word about a possible cause.

Earlier this month, a building known as the "House of Soul" was destroyed by fire and Heidelberg Project officials announced plans for security cameras and other measures. Last month, a fire burned the Heidelberg Project's Obstruction of Justice House for a second time.

Tyree Guyton, creator of the Heidelberg Project, transformed his decaying, crime-ridden neighborhood into an interactive sculpture park.

The latest fire comes on the same day as the Heidelberg Project's 4th annual fall fundraiser.
