First Acquital narrowly wins Monmouth Park feature

OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) — First Acquital overtook Royal Suspicion in the deep stretch to win by a head in the $42,000 allowance feature at Monmouth Park on Sunday.

Ridden by Gabriel Saez and trained by Eddie Broome, the 8-year-old mare ran the mile and 70 yards over a fast track in 1:43 3/5 and paid $24.20, $7.40 and $3. It was First Acquital's 10th win in 51 career starts.

Royal Suspicion paid $4.80 and $3.20, while betting favorite Rubindy was a half-length back in third and returned $2.10.
