In 2011 a 16 year old female special needs student at Northeast High School came forward saying she had been sexually assaulted by 7 male students. The charges against the 7 young men were dropped and the teen was charged with making a false report....that charge too was dropped, and the case faded away...until now.
The 16 year old and her mother have filed a Federal civil case against the Bibb County School District, and they want former Superintendent Romain Dallemand to testify.
"He is a critical witness in the case. With respect to information and also his responsibility of maintaining a safe environment for the children who were students in the Bibb County Public School System. He was the ultimate authority and he is a key witness in terms of this case."-Brad Wilson/Co-Council for the Plaintiffs
Dallemand has not answered any of the law firm's phone calls or letters and Monday United States District Court Judge Marc Treadwell issued a Subpoena for Dallemand.
"We're hoping he will comply. We're making it as easy as possible for him. We're offering to do a video deposition where he does not have to leave Haiti where we'll do a video conference." -Brad Wilson/Co-Council for the Plaintiffs
It is unclear what if any action can be taken against Dallemand if he continues to ignore the subpoena...
