ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — Athens-Clarke County police say a baby sitter will likely be charged with child cruelty and reckless abandonment after a naked infant was found walking along a road on New Year's Eve.
The Athens Banner-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1a4xUtD ) the boy was being cared for along with his infant twin sisters when the children were apparently abandoned.
Sgt. Jay Ragsdale says a woman who saw the child called police and officers went door-to-door in the neighborhood until they found one that was left unlocked.
Police say the child's mother was at work when the boy left home. Police took the woman from her job to the Athens Regional Medical Center to be reunited with her son.
The babysitter's identity hasn't been released.
