ATLANTA (AP) — A collaborative of Georgia journalism schools and news organizations will use a $35,000 grant to train investigative reporters.

The Georgia News Lab received the award from the Online News Association, a professional group of digital journalists. The collaborative consists of Clark Atlanta University, Georgia State University, Morehouse College, the University of Georgia, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and WSB-TV.

According to Clark Atlanta officials, the project competed against 124 other entries for the grant. 12 proposals received the award.

An ONA official says the organization focused on proposals that will inspire innovation, collaboration and real world impact.
