About 40 Georgia College students are moving into different housing after winter weather caused fire suppression pipes in two residence halls to break, damaging several apartments.
It happened late Tuesday afternoon.
The damaged buildings are located at The Village at West Campus Apartments.
University housing will help the students forced to temporarily relocate.
Both buildings still have water for normal activities, however the fire suppression systems are inoperable until the breaks are repaired. It's hoped that will happen by Friday.
In the meantime the fire alarm systems work, and staff will hold regular fire watch rounds.
Student access to the impacted residence halls is limited while repair crews work.
