Helping the children of military families was the premise of the 3rd annual Georgia Military Child Education Training event Monday in Kathleen.

It was held at Veterans High School and co-hosted by both the Houston County Board of Education and Robins Air Force Base.

It is designed for decision makers like military installation commanders as well as school superintendents and even state legislators.

When it comes to the growing demands upon the children of those who serve, "We want to make the transistion especially for military students from state the state and from school to school as easy as possible." -- Colonel Patricia Ross, Robins Air Force Base

Ross says the frequent moving of children of military families is stressful enough on them and their academic performance.
