ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. (AP) — A groundbreaking ceremony has been set for next week for a new Military Academic Training Center in Warner Robins.

Officials say the center will serve members of the military and their dependents as well as veterans, aiming to offer educational opportunities with college coursework, workforce training and certification.

It's a collaborative effort with the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia. The 35,000-square-foot facility will be located on land donated by Warner Robins and funded by the state.

Among those scheduled to attend Tuesday's ceremony are Gov. Nathan Deal, Chancellor Hank Huckaby and Commissioner Ron Jackson.
