LEESBURG, Ga. (AP) — Get ready for some rain -- Tropical Storm Karen is expected to move across Georgia tomorrow. Most of the rainfall is expected in middle and south Georgia. Forecasters expect Karen to hit the central Gulf Coast today. TUSKEGEE, Ala. (AP) — Tuskegee Mayor Johnny Ford says an arrest has been made in connection with the shooting death of a university student from Georgia. Ford says police arrested 22-year-old Kentavious Holland of Brownville. Bobby Smith, a was killed Sept. 27. Smith was a 21-year-old from the Atlanta suburb of Mableton and a 2010 graduate of South Cobb High. AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — The Richmond County Sheriff's Office has run out of space to store confiscated weapons. Officials plan to auction the guns off to licensed firearms distribution companies. The Augusta Chronicle reports that the auction is scheduled to start at the end of the month. ATLANTA (AP) — State officials are partnering with a group of carpet companies in northwest Georgia to launch a job training program. Officials with the Governor's office of Workforce Development said this week that the 10-week program will be offered to individuals selected by companies including Beaulieu of America and Shaw Industries Group.
