MACON, Ga. (AP) — Prosecutors have filed a new indictment against a man accused in the death of a Mercer University law student. Both indictments against Stephen McDanial include one count of murder in the death of his classmate and neighbor Lauren Giddings. The prosecutor says officials decided to refine the indictment in light of recent Supreme Court decisions. MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — The lawyer for a motorist accused of hit-and-run and vehicular homicide in Marietta says his client did stop after a deadly chain-reaction accident and gave a statement to police in Atlanta, a few miles south of the crash site. The lawyer says 52-year-old Dannie Albert Mondor provided the Atlanta officer with information about the crash and his personal information. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Looking for a tailgate party for the Florida-Georgia game in Jacksonville? It could cost you $250. That's the price of admission to the Playmaker's Club, a three-story structure being erected outside Gate 4 at EverBank Field in time for Saturday's SEC matchup. DARIEN, Ga. (AP) — Paddlers in Darien will be competing in a race this weekend to historic Fort King George. Kayakers, canoeists and paddle boarders will take to the Darien River on Saturday for a 2.4-mile race as part of the city's Fall Fest.
