ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta police are investigating the death of a woman who was fatally shot on Interstate 20. Police said yesterday the woman who appeared to be in her mid-20s was shot at least once in her torso and died at Grady Memorial Hospital. They say the shooting was neither random, nor an act of road rage.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A collection of photographs documenting the descendants of slaves on Daufuskie Island off the South-Carolina-Georgia coast is being donated to the new African-American history museum in Washington. The National Museum of African American History and Culture is expected to open in late 2015.

FORT STEWART, Ga. (AP) — Testimony resumes today in the court-martial of an Army soldier charged with killing his pregnant wife for $500,000 in life insurance and benefit money. Pvt. Isaac Aguigui (AH-gee-gee) faces an automatic life sentence if a military judge convicts him of murder in the July 2011 death of his wife, Sgt. Deirdre Aguigui.

DALLAS, Ga. (AP) — Paulding County Sheriff's officials have identified a man charged with fatally shooting a woman inside a Dallas hair salon. Sheriff's Cpl. Ashley Henson said Robert Steven McDaniel was arrested yesterday. McDaniel is charged with murder and is being held without bond in the county jail.
