Authorities say Tommy Lee Waldrip, his son John Mark Waldrip and his brother-in-law Howard Livingston shot Keith Evans with birdshot in the face and neck and then beat him to death.

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Stanley farms, one of the biggest producers of Vidalia onions, will pay nearly $100,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by American farmworkers. The workers had claimed they were paid less than minimum wage and less than foreign guest workers who worked alongside them.

DULUTH, Ga. (AP) — Gwinnett County fire officials say seven children on a daycare field trip have been treated for burns suffered during a railway museum visit. The children were on a full-size train ride in Duluth when hot embers blew from the train's stack. No one had to be hospitalized.

CLERMONT, Ga. (AP) — Three people now face charges after authorities say a child was burned at a Clermont daycare.
