(AP) — Police in Santa Cruz, California, say a Georgia prostitute charged in the overdose death of a Google executive aboard a yacht had searched online for a legal defense before her arrest on a manslaughter charge. Santa Cruz Deputy Police Chief Steve Clark says 26-year-old Alix Tichelman looked up possible defense strategies after the death of executive Forrest Hayes.

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Senate candidate Jack Kingston continues to eclipse fellow Republican David Perdue in fundraising, reporting $1.6 million in contributions over the last two months. Perdue, the former CEO of Dollar General, received $974,000 in contributions for the same period.

ATLANTA (AP) — Clark Atlanta University officials say the school will host about two dozen young African leaders for a program focused on business and entrepreneurship through July 25. TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (AP) — The mayor of Tybee Island on the Georgia seacoast says more than 800 people who signed a petition calling for a nude friendly section of beach will need to keep their clothes on — at least while he's in office. The mayor, Jason Buelterman (BELL'-tuhr-man), says there's "no chance" of nudity on what he calls a family friendly island.
