SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) — A casino boat has returned to its dock after pulling itself loose from a rocky sandbar off the Georgia and South Carolina coasts. The Coast Guard says the 174-foot cruise ship Escapade docked at its Savannah marina this afternoon. The Coast Guard rescued 118 stranded passengers and crew yesterday.

EUHARLEE, Ga. (AP) — A grand jury has determined that a Euharlee police officer who shot and killed a teenager should not face criminal charges. State investigators say two police officers were serving two probation violation warrants when a 17-year-old Christopher Roupe opened the door with a gun. The family disputes that account.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — A former school janitor has pleaded guilty to fondling two students. Reginald Price has pleaded guilty to charges of sexual battery in Richmond County. Price has been sentenced to two years in prison and eight years of probation. He won't be allowed to work in any school system in the country.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (AP) — A 24-year-old Houston County man will spend life in prison plus 10 years for a robbery. Roderick Lawson already had several felony convictions. Police have said Lawson and an accomplice approached a school teacher from behind and ordered her inside of her home at gunpoint.
