I-75 Crash Causes Delays in Monroe County

A tractor-trailer accident on I-75 in Monroe County caused havoc for morning commuters. The accident happened near exit 181 in Monroe County on the northbound side, closing one lane of travel. According to Monroe County EMA Director Matthew Perry, a tractor-trailer left the road and entered into the trees lining the interstate and burst into flames. Perry says a lot of fuel and heat was involved in the crash. The tractor and the first trailer of the tandem truck burned. The driver was able to escape safely.
