The jobs picture continues to pick up in Georgia.
The unemployment rate for the state dropped to 7% in March. That's the lowest rate since September of 2008 when it stood at 6.8%. That compares to 7.1% in February and nearly 8.5% one year ago. It's the 9th straight month unemployment dropped in Georgia and the 27,400 jobs added in February is the biggest increase during that month in 10 years.
The 11-county middle Georgia region stood at 7.6%. It includes Bibb, Houston and most of their surrounding counties.
