These still images show the aftermath of a blaze that ripped through two chicken houses in Monticello.
The scene was still smoldering as the sun went down over Cal-Maine foods. The Jasper County Fire Department had done all they could but they were unable to keep the blaze from destroying the chicken houses and killing all 70,000 chickens inside.
In an email to WGXA, Glenn Allen of the Georgia Insurance Commissioner's Office says the fire caused 4 Million Dollars worth of damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but is not being considered suspicious.
When I arrived on the scene I was met by a representative of Cal-Maine who said no one from the company would comment on the fire.
