ATLANTA (AP) — Coach Paul Johnson likes the progress Georgia Tech has made in winning three straight games. The timing couldn't be better as the Yellow Jackets (6-3, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) prepare to visit No. 8 Clemson on Thursday. Clemson (8-1, 6-1 ACC) has won two in a row since suffering an embarrassing home loss to Florida State three weeks ago, but the Tigers are a tough draw with an offense that ranks 11th nationally and a defense that ranks first in tackles for lost yardage. Johnson has been pleased with recent improvement in the Jackets' defense quarterback pressure. He also likes what he's seen from the offense's triple-option mechanics and perimeter blocking. Georgia Tech must win to keep its slim hopes alive of advancing to a second straight ACC title game.
