A Jones County fire crew is home safe and sound this week after helping fight a wildfire in Idaho.
The crew of 20 set out to Sun Valley, Idaho, for a 2 week job to help maintain a wildfire from spreading and destroying homes.
Because of the damp Central Georgia summer, the Georgia Forestry Commission was able to send help out west.
Christopher Buchannan, a member of the crew, says not only was it a rewarding experience, but the team also learned a lot.
When asked if he would take the trip all over again, Buchannan answered without hesitation, "yes, definitely."
Another Jones County crew recently returned home from fighting a different wildfire in Utah.
