Music is always a big part of the Georgia National Fair and this year is no different.
WGXA's Chief Meteorologist Jeff Cox spent time with two acts at the fair this year - husband and wife duo Kari and Billy and Georgia artist Leon Jacobs.
Kari and Billy are enjoying recent success watching their first single, "Play Me a Fiddle Song," make its way up the charts. It's off their album 'Whole Lotta Love' which features 16 songs, all written by them. Kari and Billy say the single is a tribute to Charlie Daniels.
Leon Jacobs is a Georgia native and even throws a little central Georgia flair into his shows. We caught him playing Little Richard hits Thursday night. Leon says he works to feature the music of what he calls "Path Makers" which are artists who paved the path for artists today. You may hear a little bit of Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and many more.
Catch Kari and Billy and Leon Jacobs each day at the Georgia National Fair on the stage next to the clock tower at the fairgrounds in Perry.
