WAYCROSS, Ga. (AP) — The state fire marshal and Waycross police and fire officials are seeking leads in an arson fire that killed Waycross Fire Department Lt. Jeff Little.

The 50-year-old fire department veteran died fighting a blaze in a vacant home in Waycross early Sunday morning.

The Waycross Journal-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/18v8BC0) that the state is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information.

Glenn Allen, a spokesman for the state fire marshal's office, says the home had been vacant for a long time. A ceiling collapsed on Little, who was pronounced dead at a Waycross hospital.

Little graduated from Sylacauga High School in Sylacauga, Ala., and worked for Childersburg Fire and Rescue in Childersburg, Ala. He moved to Waycross in 2000, joining the fire department in the south Georgia city in 2002.
