The votes have been totaled from Tuesday's election in Macon and Bibb County. The Mayor's position and 9 Commission seats for the soon-to-be consolidated Macon and Bibb County.
When the Bibb County Board of Elections announced all precincts were counted, current Macon Mayor Robert Reichert had earned enough of the votes to secure the win outright. But late Tuesday evening, word surfaced that approximately 8,000 votes remained uncounted and were attributed to the early voting and absentee ballots. WGXA was able to confirm the outstanding votes with State Representative Allen Peake. Those votes were added to the totals just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, propelling former Macon Mayor C. Jack Ellis into a runoff with Reichert. That election will take place October 15th.

In District 1, Gary Bechtel easily defeated Harold Young by earning 82% of the vote.
