With Macon's runoff election a week away, the advance voting lines have been long. Candidates for the council seats have been busy doing last minute campaigning but perhaps the fiercest competition is between Robert Reichert and C. Jack Ellis for the mayoral seat.

This is the second runoff between Ellis and Reichert in two years. Reichert was successful last time, and with the election rapidly drawing near, he hopes to repeat that success.

"People tell me, oh you got it, you know you nearly won it without a runoff but that doesn't matter. That's the past. They reset the game clock and its zero to zero so whoever shows up with the most votes on the 15th of October goes home with the trophy." -Robert Reichert

Both candidates are heavily campaigning, Ellis held a special get out the vote event at the Overtyme Bar and Grill which featured castmembers from the reality show South Beach Tow.
Ellis was expected at the event but his arrival was scheduled too late for our cameras to get an interview by our deadline.

The last day for advance voting is this Friday. Chace Ambrose, WGXA
