The cause of an early morning Macon house fire is under investigation by the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department.

Fire Investigator Steven Wesson tells WGXA, the home on West Marion Road caught fire around 6:20 a.m. on Monday.  Wesson says the 29-year old homeowner's son woke up when he heard the fire crackling and escaped through the front door of the house.  No one was injured in the blaze.

Wesson says the fire began in the kitchen area of the home.
