A man hanged himself Monday morning on the playground at Lake Joy Primary School, according to the Houston County Coroner's office.
The coroner said the body was found just before 10 a.m.
Students returned to school in Houston County last week, and the school, at 985 Lake Joy Road, Warner Robins, was on lock down as authorities investigated.
Beth McLaughlin, Houston County Board of Education spokesperson, said school staff called the Warner Robins Police Department Monday morning to report an adult on the playground.
She said the school, along with the adjacent Lake Joy Elementary School, was put in a code yellow alert. Code yellow, means students continue with their regular activities, but are not allowed to go outside.
Connie Wallace has two grandchildren at Lake Joy Primary.
She came to the school to check on them and told WGXA nothing like this has happened at the school before.
The school will provide counseling for students and staff who saw the body.
The coroner said the man's identity is known to authorities who are attempting to contact his family before releasing his name.
