MOKPO, South Korea (AP) — The grim task of searching a sunken ferry for remains is continuing off the coast of South Korea. Officials say divers have recovered 13 bodies from inside the ferry and three other bodies floating outside. The confirmed death toll is now 49. More than 250 people are missing, most of them high school students on a holiday trip. There are only 174 known survivors.
PERTH, Australia (AP) —The search for a missing Malaysia Airlines jet is resuming in the Indian Ocean. The U.S. Navy's Bluefin 21 unmanned sub is now on its eighth trip into the depths off the coast of western Australia. The sub is expected to finish searching a targeted patch of seabed within a week after so far coming up empty. Officials say the search area may be expanded.
WASHINGTON (AP) — A Western official says the United States is considering deploying about 150 soldiers for military exercises to begin in Poland and Estonia in the next few weeks. WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say a body found near a highway in Massachusetts is that of a missing boy. The Worcester County district attorney says 5-year-old Jeremiah Oliver's body was found Friday off Interstate 190 in Sterling. The boy was missing for months before police learned of his disappearance. No charges have been announced related to his death.
