Former Mount De Sales music teacher Flint Dollar confirms he filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Dollar was fired from the private Catholic school for being open about marrying his same sex partner. Dollar says the school was aware of his homosexuality when they hired him in 2011. In his complaint to the EEOC, Dollar says he was told he was fired because his plans to do not quote “conform to traditional Catholic teaching.” He also claims he is a victim of sexual stereotyping which is a "violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964." Students at Mount De Sales and Dollar's supporters have held rallies and marches in his honor.
Dollar says he is taking it one day at a time.
