WGXA has new information in the break-up of a suspected statewide drug ring that began unraveling after an arrest by the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.
Members of the ring are accused of shipping meth out of Atlanta and into a number of central Georgia counties. Investigators released new pictures of evidence seized so far including cash, handguns and suspected drugs packaged for sale.
The Jones County Sheriff’s Office says the arrest number of suspects is now up to 48 and the investigation is ongoing. Detectives say this was an unusual ring featuring a number of older suspects.
Most of the accused will face RICO charges for taking part in a corrupt organization along with drug and weapons charges.
