Jones County Sheriff's detectives say they're working a new lead in the case of a fatal hit and run collision involving a pedestrian from earlier this year.

28 year old Marquis Lawson was hit and killed while walking along Wheeler Road in Jones County on July 28th. Since then, a 2 thousand dollar reward for information in the case has gone unclaimed.

Detectives are still asking for anyone with details to come forward.

They believe Lawson was hit by a white colored utility truck or SUV, possibly a Nissan Exterra.

Lawson was pronounced dead at the scene.

If you have any information call the Jones County Sheriff's Office at (478) 986-3489.
