Bass Pro Shop was full of people eager to purchase "American Heroes on the Homefront" the latest book by Lt. Colonel Oliver North, who would also be on hand signing copies of the book.
Charles Dawson drove all the way from Newton, Georgia for the chance to meet Col. North.
"I just think he's a good conservative and we need more courageous conservative men such as him, serving our country these days." -- Charles Dawson
"Besides my father he's like the first introduction I had into the military. Seeing this guy growing up as a kid. I've followed him since, " -- Kyle Jackson
North was late leaving Ft. Benning and arrived at Bass Pro nearly two hours late, but despite the delay nearly all of those who came for the signing waited to meet North in person.
"Well I'm grateful and my reckoning is there are a lot of folks here who know someone who's serving and this book is all about American heroes...and heroes aren't just the ones in helmets and flak jackets, it's there families." -- Oliver North
During the course of this book tour one thing North has been paying close attention to is President Obama's going ahead in search of a nuclear agreement with Iran, despite opposition from American Allies in the Middle East and skepticism from congress.
When asked his opinion on the situation, North did not hold back.
"I think it's the dumbest damned thing you could do. It gives the Iranians every dog gone option, it gives us nothing. and on the back end they're going to build nuclear weapons and we're all going to pay for it. It's a terrible mistake." -Oliver North
