ATLANTA (AP) — Authorities say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in the Atlanta area. CBS Atlanta reports that the person was hit near a Shell service station on Memorial Drive in DeKalb County early Wednesday morning. Police tell WXIA-TV that the woman stepped from the sidewalk into the path of a westbound passenger car. Authorities shut down all lanes of the busy thoroughfare for a time early Wednesday, but the roadway reopened later in the morning.
